August 11, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The first building to be constructed east of Lake Shore Drive is marking its 50th anniversary. The 400 East Randolph building opened in 1963.
Back when it opened, it was known as the Outer Drive East and quickly became known for its unique domed pool.
Hundreds of residents and guests celebrated the building and took a trip down memory lane during a party at the Radisson Blu hotel Sunday night.
