October 16, 2013 (AURORA, Ill.) -- Aurora police are looking for whoever stole more nearly $19,000 worth of rare coins from a home in the western Chicago suburb.
The (Aurora) Beacon-News reports the owner of the coin collection isn't sure when the money was taken. But he says it disappeared from his home sometime between Sept. 1 and this week.
The man had been amassing the stockpile since the 1960s. It included a Benjamin Franklin Full Bell 50-cent piece. The newspaper reports that coin alone is valued at $10,000.
