Monday, October 14, 2013
October 14, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Trial begins Tuesday for Heriberto Viramontes, the Chicago man charged with attacking a young Irish exchange student with a baseball bat.
Natasha McShane can no longer walk or talk because of the injuries she suffered in the April 2010 attack. She was a 23-year-old UIC graduate student when Viramontes allegedly hit her in the head with a bat as she walked in Bucktown with her friend, Stacy Jurich.
Jurich was also injured in the attack but has recovered.
