August 3, 2013 (SPRINGFIELD, Ill.) -- People attending the Illinois State Fair this summer now can have information they need to navigate the event right at their fingertips.
In a statement Friday, fair officials announced the creation of an Illinois State Fair app for use on smartphones.
The mobile app provides contest results and schedules. Attendees also can use it to locate their favorite attractions and food vendors.
The fair begins Thursday and runs through Aug. 18 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
It features more than 2,000 competitions, hundreds of food vendors and multiple musical and specialty acts.
