Fire destroys Springfield cerebral palsy group home

Monday, August 12, 2013

A Springfield group home for people with cerebral palsy was destroyed by a weekend fire.

The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports the home operated by United Cerebral Palsy was destroyed Sunday afternoon.

Springfield Fire Chief Ken Fustin says the three people who lived in the home, along with a property manager, were at church when the fire broke out around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators are still working to figure out what sparked the blaze.
