William Happ executed in Florida for 1986 murder of Illinois woman Angie Crowley

October 15, 2013 (WLS) -- Florida has executed a prisoner more than 27 years after he strangled an Illinois woman.
William Happ received his sentence Tuesday evening for raping and killing Angie Crowley in 1986.
He was executed by chemical injection at a Florida state prison.
Happ encountered Crowley in a convenience store parking lot, kidnapped her, killed her and threw her body in a canal.
Crowley lived in Oregon, Illinois but moved to south Florida just five months before the murder.
