October 4, 2013 (INDIANAPOLIS) -- Authorities say a man has been shot in the head outside a motel on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Police were called to the Quality Inn about 5:30 a.m. Friday and found the man on the ground in the motel's parking lot. Police spokesman Officer Kendale Adams says the man was taken to a hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to serious condition.
Adams says the shooting followed a disturbance in the parking lot and that several shots were fired. He says detectives had determined who they believe was the gunman and were searching for him.
The motel is near the Lafayette Road interchange with Interstate 65.
