October 15, 2013 (WLS) -- The Lake County, Indiana, sheriff says his office made three major busts last week.
On Thursday, they arrested 38-year-old Corey Reed of Gary. They say he was caught with more than four kilos of cocaine with a street value of $200,000.
The next day they stopped a pickup truck on I-90 for speeding and found 550 pounds of marijuana. Francisco Martinez, 33, and 23-year-old Miguel Perez-Mendoza, both of Orrville, were charged with possession with intent to deliver.
And earlier in the week, the county gang unit recovered six weapons from alleged gang members who police say had an unusual source of supply.
"Our investigation indicated the mother was supplying the weapons to her three sons who are ranking members of this gang," said Sheriff John Buncich, Lake County, Indiana.
The sheriff is not releasing the names of the suspects.
