October 9, 2013 (ST. LOUIS) -- Authorities are searching for a cunning criminal who stole a Wisconsin woman's diamond ring after paying to fly her to St. Louis.
KMOV-TV reports that 32-year-old Emily Graham of Madison, Wis., was selling the ring on Craigslist last month. A St. Louis man contacted her, saying he was interested in paying $19,000. He paid for her flight to St. Louis and had a car waiting at Lambert Airport.
Graham thought the driver was going to take her to a jewelry store. Instead, she was taken to a deserted area, where a second man opened the car door and struck Graham in the head before taking her ring, purse, laptop computer and shoes.
Police say they have a person of interest in the case, but no arrest has been made.
