October 10, 2013 (MONROE, Wis.) -- Police were able to talk a gunman into surrendering following a 13-hour standoff in Monroe.
Officers were called to a house Wednesday evening after the man threatened to shoot himself. Police say the 32-year-old man fired a pistol into the floor at one point during the standoff.
When negotiations with the man broke down, WISC-TV says police used percussion devices and chemical irritants and talks restarted.
Authorities say the man agreed to surrender about 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
