October 14, 2013 (CINCINNATI) (WLS) -- A Cincinnati mother and son graduated from college together over the weekend.
Kimberly Thornhill and Dexter Thomas celebrated their shared milestone together with family and friends. Both were happy for the other. But Thornhill took the opportunity to give her son a little advice.
"Oh my God, it's never too late. Knowledge is power, and it may take us a little while to read it all. But you'll get it," Thornhill said.
Thomas plans to put his business degree to good use by opening his own barber shop. His mother intends to continue her education by studying law.
