November 6, 2012 (GLEN ELLYN, Ill.) (WLS) -- Iraq War veteran Tammy Duckworth has defeated tea party-backed Joe Walsh in the 8th Congressional District race.
"I just got off the phone with Ms. Duckworth and I congratulated her," Walsh told ABC7's Ben Bradley. Walsh said he has no regrets and attributes his loss to gerrymandering by Democrats. He called it a tough night for Illinois incumbents.
