June 15, 2005 (WLS) -- Madonna is performing in Chicago for her sold-out 'Confessions' tour. Gina Brooke, Madonna's makeup artist and artistic director for Shu Uemura, shares the pop star's beauty secrets.
Madonna's makeup artist uses a natural look for her. She only uses concealor and stays away from foundation and powder because they can accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. She also adds false eyelashes to make her eyes look bigger.
"I've created exclusively for Madonna a pair of lashes for her to wear on her Confessions Tour and I came up with diamonds embedded on the lash line of her mink lashes and she just loves them. They sell for $10,000 a pair but shu uemura created a faux pair for $25.00," said Brooke.
Tips On How To Get Madonna's Eyes:
- Start by curling your lashes. This will create a bed for your false lashes.
- Add mascara so that you don't have to put it on the false lashes. This will keep your false lashes to last longer.
- Cut away length so they fit your eye perfectly. Always cut from inner corner of the lash because the outer corner has the length.
- A trick that I have to create easy application is to wrap the lash around the end of a pencil or brush and leave it on there for 2 minutes. This will make a nice curve to the lash.
- Apply lash adhesive on the top of your hand and take the false lashes with a tweezer and carefully glide the lashes on the adhesive.
- Apply the false lashes from outer corner towards inner corner of the eye. Let it dry for a couple seconds.
- Add liquid liner and your done.
When pairing your false eyelashes with eye shadow and lipstick, it really depends on the occasion. More women today wear false lashes and pink lip gloss during the day. The look is clean and fresh. For evening, the possibilities are endless - have fun with your lashes! If you're going to wear a bold color eye shadow, choose one color and wear it alone with false lashes - the look is very chic.
