February 22, 2007 (WLS) -- Oscar fever is in the air! Debi Lilly of a Perfect Event has provided some simple tips for you to glitz and glam your way to a fabulous Oscars party!
And, of course, Debi would know how. She recently threw a pre-Oscars party for Oprah at her home in Santa Barbara that celebrated the Oscar nomination of Forest Whitaker!
Theme Stations:
- "The Queen" Throw a royal banquet fit for the queen herself!
- 1/2 Part Grand Marnier
- 1 1/2 Parts Vodka
- 1 Part Cherry Limeade
- Add a pour of grenadine for an Oscar worthy layer of red carpet on the bottom of the glass.
Banquet Buffet - For the perfect banquet buffet serve a "tea party bar" for guests to enjoy. Simply provide an array of finger sandwiches with fillings of choice. Be creative if you choose as they are effortless to prepare. Display on a silver serving platter.
Fun Royal Activity - Play a photo match game! Have a royal photo board with photos of past and present monarchy on the left hand side and all of their titles on the right. Guests have to try and match up all the royal photos and their names. (Have photo board to display and discuss)

Regal Centerpiece - For an effortless centerpiece, that is straight off the store shelf (or your dining room table perhaps), simply use a Candelabra. It makes an instant centerpiece. Light the candles for added effect!

Set the Scene - To get into the Dreamgirls theme, put on feather boas.

Dazzling Disco Centerpiece - For a fun and glitzy centerpiece have one large disco ball suspended on a simple glass vase. Use a vase that you already have at home. Have an array of candles surrounding the case for a glittering, disco light effect
For Dreamy Buffet: For the perfect 'Showbiz" menu, provide an array of caviar and raw mini menu items. For the finishing touch, present the buffet on shiny, silver platters.
