Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School serves nearly 3,000 students and is located in Flossmoor, Ill.
93% of our graduates attend 4-year or 2-year college.
In 2013, Homewood-Flossmoor became the first public high school in Chicago's suburbs to offer the International Baccalaurate (IB) Diploma Programme.
Homewood-Flossmoor offers a rigorous selection of classes, including 23 Advanced Placement programs.
Homewood-Flossmoor has been recognized nationally as one of the best high schools in the country by Newsweek, the Washington Post and U.S. News & World Report.
The student body - just like the H-F community itself - is diverse, an attribute, along with quality education, that parents repeatedly cite for moving into the district.
A tradition of excellence is the cornerstone of Homewood-Flossmoor: the result of commitment on the part of district residents to the idea of a community high school with high standards for students and staff, and a solid goal of excellence in education.
In 2011, the College Board recognized H-F as the only school in the state of Illinois with an exemplary Advanced Placement program for its efforts in getting African-American students to succeed in A.P. classes.
This year, Homewood-Flossmoor's Visual Arts Department was named Best School Art Program by the Illinois Art Education Association, and its website was named one of the best in the state by the Illinois chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.
The school offers more than 60 clubs and activities, including unique programs such as Environmental Vikings, Key Club and ZooBots.
Athletics at Homewood-Flossmoor include all major sports and others - such as Field Hockey, Water Polo and Lacrosse - resulting in more than 1,400 interscholastic contests each year. 31 sports and 83 levels. Viking athletes compete in the IHSA Southwest Suburban Conference.
In 2012, Homewood-Flossmoor revealed its world-class Viking Broadcasting Center, a redesigned television studio for its VTV channel and WHFH 88.5 FM radio station.

Football Team
Our Football team is playing Carl Sandburg High School @ Sandburg in Orland Park, IL at 7:30 pm. on Friday 10/4. The game will be streaming live at members of our viking television crew will be announcing the game and providing play-by-play - always entertaining and well done.
HF High School is a proud member of the South West Surburban Conference. Tonight (10/4) the Vikings take on the Carl Sandburg Eagles. HF is currently ranked #10 by the Chicago Tribune, the HF Vikings will go into this game with a 5-0 record. This is Varsity Head Coach Craig Buzea's fourth year leading the Vikings.
