ABC7 Job: Commercial Production Manager

October 9, 2013 (WLS) -- WLS-TV, the ABC owned television station in Chicago has an immediate opening for a Commercial Production Manager.

This person works directly with the VP of Creative Services and Local Programming to manage production of all sales integrations, sales presentations, commercial spots, and other sales productions as needed. This position would also develop and produce promotional spots, PSA's and community marketing promos as needed. This person would coordinate and schedule studio productions for local programming and promotion.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Working closely with the VP and General Sales Manager and the VP of Sales and Marketing, this person manages, produces and coordinates production needs for the sales department.
2. Working directly with the VP of Creative Services and Local Programming this person will execute and help develop strategic day-to-day marketing initiatives as they pertain to sales production and sales integrations.
3. Works directly with the VP of Creative Services and Local Programming to write, produce and edit promotional spots for creative services and programming.
4. Works closely with Windy City Live to create daily topicals and image spots.
5. Coordinates and schedules the use of various in-house studios and equipment for local programming and promotion.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:

6. Responsible for creating and producing PSA's and community projects as needed.
7. Able to create and produce programming promos for community outreach initiatives.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

This person must have seven to 10 years of sales production and promotion experience along with excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven track record of successfully working with other people to complete joint projects. A degree in business, marketing, or technical area preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to maneuver between building and studios, handle a time-sensitive work environment and be able to carry or move objects weighing between 15 and 50 pounds.
