October 9, 2013 (WLS) -- WLS-TV, the ABC owned television station in Chicago has an immediate opening for Assistant Creative Services Director.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing cut-through creative, team building and effectively managing change in a multi-screen world. A minimum of 10 years of experience in promotion, local programming and production along with experience as a Creative Services Director is required. This person needs to be highly motivated, extremely competitive and driven by the opportunity to make a difference at the number one station in Chicago.
The Assistant Director of Creative Services will direct and coordinate the daily marketing, production and local programming efforts of ABC7. Working closely with the VP of Creative Services and Local Programming, this person is responsible for the development and execution of promotion, local programming and advertising strategies including all on-air, radio, print, graphics, sales projects and community events. Also provides additional support and promotion guidance to ABC7Chicago.com.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Help design, direct and conceptualize marketing initiatives to successfully brand ABC7 Chicago and all of our properties.
2. Responsible for using research-based information to first define and then produce effective image and topical promotion to help define our brand.
3. Establish marketing procedures and provide constant oversight of daily promotional efforts. This would include creating writing and producing standards and practices for all promotional material.
4. Along with VP of Creative Services, this position would contribute to the oversight of local programming efforts as well as providing insight, direction and feedback to producers, talent and advertisers.
5. Work closely with news to develop special sweeps promotion consistent with our news and station brand.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
6. Work closely with ABC7Chicago.com to promote our web, apps and our social media platforms through spots, community events and sales projects.
7. Provide additional support to the daily on-air logs.
8. Create and foster an environment of professional growth by challenging employees with new opportunities at work, and or at seminars or other workshops.
9. Take on other duties as necessary.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 10 years of experience is required in promotion, local programming and production at the station level. Must have experience as a Creative Services Director along with a proven track record of team building. An intense understanding of how to conceptualize, write, produce, and editing promotion, programming and sales projects is also required. A degree in business, marketing, or technical area required.
