Venus De Miles/ Greenhouse Scholars

July 20, 2013 (LAKE FOREST, Ill.) (WLS) -- On Sunday, July 28, the Venus De Miles Second Annual Illinois Ride, an all women's cycling event in Lake Forest, raises money for the Greenhouse Scholars. The group helps high-performing, under-resourced college students receive college scholarships, mentoring opportunities, networking and a trip to Colorado to go through the Greenhouse scholars program. Michelle Kruk, Greenhouse scholar, and Laurie Marks with the Greenhouse Scholar Foundation, came into our ABC7 studio to tell us about the organization and the event.
