Apple fritters

Recipe from Sweet Whimsy in Long Grove, Ill.

• 2 granny smith apples
• 2c flour
• 1/3c sugar
• 1tsp baking powder
• 1tsp salt
• 1tsp cinnamon
• 1/4t nutmeg
• 3/4c apple cider
• 2eggs
• 2tbs butter, melted

Glaze
• 2c powdered sugar
• 1/4c cider 1/2t cinnamon
• 1/4t nutmeg
• Peel and chop apples into 1/4in pieces
• Mix dry ingredients and toss with apples. Pour in cider eggs and butter. Fry at 350F until brown.
• Mix glaze ingredients. Dip in glaze.
