August 11, 2012 (BOLINGBROOK, Ill.) (WLS) -- Back-to-school time can put pressure on families that can't afford all the expensive supplies.
West suburban DuPage Township is holding an event August 17 to make sure all kids have access to school supplies.
Through a partnership with community businesses, the township is able to provide school supplies for families in need.
Each student receives essential supplies such as paper, pencils and glue.
In addition to school supplies, the program offers food, entertainment, health screenings, haircuts and dental exams- for free.
The program serves residents in Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Plainfield and Naperville.
