The initial accident occurred between two vehicles shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Route 202 near the Route 30 Bypass in West Whiteland Township. The crash involved a 2006 Dodge Dakota and a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick.

When police arrived on scene they found two people deceased inside the Sidekick. They have been identified as Diane Washington, 45, and George Parker, 47, both of Norristown.

The driver of the Dakota, identified as 20-year-old Brian O'Neill of Elverson, was observed running from the scene. O'Neill jumped over a guardrail and landed in brush approximately 75-feet below the highway.

A third vehicle, a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, collided with the disabled Dodge Dakota on the roadway. The driver of the Galant, Carldin Laventure of Philadelphia, was not injured but a passenger in the car was taken to Crozier Chester Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

O'Neill was transported by helicopter to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with non-life threatening injuries.

Route 202 northbound was closed while investigators and clean up crews worked the scene. All lanes have since reopened to traffic.

The accident is under investigation.
