CATHY GANDOLFO joined WPVI TV in September, 1975, as a writer for Action News. In 1977 she was promoted to general assignment reporter and the following year became New Jersey Correspondent. Miss Gandolfo grew up in South Philadelphia and attended St. Maria Goretti High School. In 1971 she graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Communications. After graduation she worked for WFIL-AM and WCAU-AM. She began her career in news in 1973 when she became part-time news broadcaster for WIFI-FM in Philadelphia.

Miss Gandolfo's years of experience include covering the start of casino gambling in Atlantic City and the numerous changes since. She has reporter from several national conventions and has been sent to Vatican City to cover Catholic Church issues and their connections to the Church in Philadelphia area. These assignments include the Canonization of Philadelphia native St. Katharine Drexel, the elevation of Archbishop Justin Rigali to the College of Cardinals, the Beatification of Mother Teresa and the funeral of Pope John Paul 2nd. She is also the annual host of the Columbus Day Parade broadcast on 6ABC.

Miss Gandolfo is a member of the Advisory Board of Sts. John Neumann & Maria Goretti High School and serves as a member of the History Committee at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford, Pa. She enjoys playing golf and spending time with old friends.
