VERNON ODOM, Action News reporter, joined WPVI-TV, Channel 6 in 1976. Besides daily reporting chores, Vernon hosts WPVI-TV's weekly Public Affairs program "Visions."

Mr. Odom graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science and went on to Columbia University for graduate studies in Broadcast Journalism. Before coming to Channel 6, he was employed by WXIA-TV in Atlanta as a reporter, anchorman, and talk-show host.

Mr. Odom is a member of the Philadelphia and National Chapters of the Association of Black Journalists. He enjoys basketball, reading, writing, and swimming.
