Ali grew up in South Jersey and graduated from Eastern High School in Voorhees, New Jersey. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Georgetown University.
Ali worked as a registered nurse for several years and served as a Nurse Corps officer in the U.S. Navy before going back to school to earn her master's degree at Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism.
Before returning to work for her hometown station, Ali was a reporter in Jacksonville, Florida where she covered everything from wildfires to death penalty court proceedings to the discovery of a blood test that may be able predict Alzheimer's Disease. Ali's journalism career also included a stop in Lansing, Michigan.
When Ali is not reporting on the latest medical news, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, working out and taking trips to the shore.
