Public health officials say two more cases of West Nile virus has been confirmed in residents, bringing the number infected to five, including one death.
Spraying against mosquitoes continued Thursday night in Philadelphia. The city's health department was out at dusk targeting one section of Fairmount Park.
This may be the worst year for West Nile Virus since it arrived in the 1990s. Texas is the hardest hit, with 336 human cases, and 16 deaths, more than 200 in the Dallas area alone.
The current West Nile outbreak is one of the largest in the U.S., with four times the usual number of cases for this time of year, federal health officials said Wednesday.
