Charles L. Nelson, MD, is the Chief of the Joint Replacement Service at Penn Medicine.
Charles L. Nelson, MD, Chief of the Joint Replacement Service at Penn Medicine, will discuss less invasive approaches to hip replacement as well as peri-operative pain management strategies. Dr. Nelson will also answer questions related to alternative bearing options in hip replacement surgeries.

Dr. Nelson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and orthopaedic residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Dr. Nelson is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He specializes in complex hip and knee reconstruction, primary and revision hip and knee replacement, and hip and knee arthroscopic surgery. He sees patients at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Penn Medicine Radnor.
