March 30, 2011- Tracey's West Coast Experience
Hello hello! Right now I am slightly stressed because I am on my way to the semi final audition rehearsal but it has been a hectic day already and I just noticed that the tights I wear have ripped- so I have to pick up a new pair before I start!
This part of the audition process is always a stressful one because we are given choreography the night before the audition and have to perform it tomorrow night at semi-finals! It really makes all of us work hard to focus on the moves and to stay on top of our game! This part of the audition is a lot like our season in that we learn tons of material within a weeks time and then have to perform it on gamedays that weekend. Being able to absorb choreography quickly is a huge part of being an Eagles cheerleader- it does take time though and sometimes, its not easy!
That being said, I hope tonight goes smoothly and that we all work hard but still have a lot of fun!
Look for my video blogs soon- I didn't have a laptop with me in California so I have many things to upload!
Good luck everyone!
What a wonderful trip this has been so far! From meeting Jonathan my fiances family to spending quality time conversing and seeing the sights- it has all been wonderful.
It can be hard sometimes to stay on top of things while on vacation especially when it comes to audition preparations, lucky for me though Jonathan's two wonderful nieces kept me busy on their trampoline! What a workout that can be from jumping, to back flips we had a blast and it was a great and fun cardio workout!
We spent the day touring La Jolla on the coast and it could not have been more beautiful. With the sun beaming down we played football, catch and ran around with the girls and the family soaking up some sun. The best part too was seeing seals that were basking in the sun on these huge rocks! It was truly a terrific sight.
Now, I'm headed up to Northern California with more coastal sights in store and will be trying to blog as much as I can. Open call auditions are 2 days away! So as usual, I wish all the women trying out luck- have tons of fun!
Talk to you soon!
Being on the West Coast visiting family and friends has been a great trip so far. My fiance and I have toured the city of Los Angeles (he has been my tour guide as he is from this area) and today are visiting some of the most beautiful beaches before heading to San Diego to meet his siblings. Being out here by the ocean is so peaceful and really allows me to think a lot about life and how lucky I am to have such a great one filled with a wonderful career, family and love.
I began thinking about the auditions and must say I too am excited but a little nervous. I will be returning from California and auditioning on Wednesday at the semi final round. This can be a tricky audition because we only have one night to learn and perfect the choreography before performing it for the judges the very next day! I always believe this to be the most challenging part of the audition process but for me I like to think of it as a rehearsal during the season.
As we would prepare for games, there were times when we would learn a new quarter break and have to perform it on the field that Sunday- so the ability to work under pressure is important and can prove to be very useful both during auditions and the season.
I always keep a positive mind set during auditions and most importantly I have fun! By looking at the tryouts in this light it keeps my nerves down and allows me to really just embrace the process as a great opportunity to dance and bring everything I have for the judges to see. There is a lot of bonding too that happens between all of us with auditions, women helping each other with the choreography, spending time assuring everyone to stay focused and as relaxed as possible. These extra bonuses help all of us to get through what can be a stressful audition. All in all though, I am looking forward to being on stage again and wish luck to every contestant this coming Saturday!!
Now off for a swim in the Pacific ocean! Talk to you soon!
Hi everyone! I'm out and about in Hollywood! Perhaps the Eagles Cheerleaders should apply for a star! Hope all is well in Philly!
March 18, 2011- DANCE PREPARATION WORKSHOP 2
The dance prep workshop was a great opportunity for the contestants to really focus on dance training, skills, technique and of course perfecting the choreography for the open call! Hundreds of women came out for this workshop and left feeling confident and ready for the big tryout! I was able to interview a couple girls and hear about their experiences and work one on one with others who wanted extra help on turns, walks etc. Everyone was great and high energy just filled the room! I know that with the open call next week I will be back in the contestants shoes as us returning cheerleader audition for our spot starting at the semi final round. As you'll hear in my video though, I am headed to LA for a small getaway to meet with my fiances family and partake in some much needed relaxation before my tryouts in a couple weeks! Enjoy this video though and as always, best of luck to each contestant!!
March 17, 2011- Happy St. Patrick's Day!
March 15, 2011- DANCE PREPARATION WORKSHOP
Tonight is our dance prep workshop which means we will be helping out the contestants with dance moves, technique etc, however we will also be working out an dancing! In preparation for this, the four of us- me, Casey, Gina and Sierra all visited Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon for some makeovers and much needed relaxation! What better way to prepare onself then enjoying a nice day at the spa beforehand! This retreat spa however was incdredible. If you truly want to feel as though you are on vacation- this is the place to go! From the moment we walked in Joseph was truly wonderful and provided Casey and I with the most amazing spa treatments I've ever had. I had the Moor Mud Soft Pack treatment done- basically it started with a full body scrub, then I was covered in warm mud, wrapped up and then submerged into a warm pool of water. It was incredible and the best way to really relieve stress and relax my muscles. With two seasons under my belt, I know how intense rehears! als and game days can be- so knowing that this spa is out there to rejuvenate our bodies is great! With tonight's dance workshop I now feel relaxed and ready to go! Thank you Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon!

Today's video blog was a lot of fun because we had the opportunity to do a shoot for AAA. It was a great way to not only work out but to participate in an awesome shoot for their world magazine and videos. Some girls had to demonstrate great exercises and I was able to do the introduction and closing for the video so for me, it was almost like a hosting job! I'm always thankful for opportunities like this and know that with every new cheerleader season comes even greater opportunities so with that in mind, I know I will just continue to work hard so I can hopefully make the team again!

Even in our "off season" as we prepare for auditions just like everyone else, we still have appearances and events to attend! So as you can imagine, it is a lot of time management and staying on top of our choreography, physique and skills! This past Friday 20 of us participated in a St. Patrick's Celebration called Erin Go Birds presented by Miller Lite. We made appearances, performed a dance and had tons of giveaways and contests. I actually demonstrated how to properly do an Irish jig and hosted a jig-off contest! We all had a ton of fun and it is appearances like this that make me want to continue to work hard and prepare myself for auditions so I do not miss out on these opportunities next year!

Myself and five other cheerleaders had the privilege last night to attend the annual Ed Block Courage Awards in Baltimore Maryland. The Ed Block Courage Foundation helps children who have been abused. This awards banquet honored our own Eagles player Jason Avant and the Eagles Training staff along with numerous NFL players who have proven that with courage comes success. It was a wonderful night and a tremendous opportunity for us to have been a part of it all!
