In September 2001, students in Mrs. Munn's 7th grade English Language Arts class at Talley Middle School in Wilmington, Delaware, wrote essays describing their feelings about the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
In total, nearly 100 students recorded their thoughts and preserved them in a tin box, which they buried on school grounds. On Monday some of the students, along with their former teacher Mrs. Munn - now retired - returned to Talley to dig up the time capsule they buried and shared their thoughts about 9/11 with current students.
"Ten years ago, students were devastated by the tragedy and expressed a need to say what they were feeling," said former teacher Juanita Munn. "We decided to keep the legacy via the written word and from there decided to bury the time capsule to commemorate this moment in history."
