Man assaulted after crash in Mayfair

MAYFAIR - October 22, 2009 (WPVI) -- A 20-year-old man was assaulted after he was involved in an accident overnight in Philadelphia's Mayfair section.

The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. when driver of vehicle lost control and crashed onto the sidewalk on the 7500 block of Frankford Avenue.

The victim was dragged out of his vehicle and assaulted, suffering injuries to his head.

He was transported by medics to Aria Hospital Torresdale Division. There's no word on his condition at this time.

Police are investigating the assault.
