Affordable Bobbie Brooks clothes at Dollar General stores

Monday, October 04, 2010

If you're shopping for a new Fall wardrobe, you might not expect to find clothes next to the Amazing Brownie Pan or the Insta-Peel. But if you're shopping at a Dollar General, that's where you'll find the new clothes from Bobbie Brooks.

It's a brand name some might remember from the 70s... Bobbie Brooks, but these clothes are updated and affordable.

"You can buy a great pair of jeans for $12," explains Dollar General's Lucinda Bisney. "There's nothing over $16 in the entire line."

Miranda -- a Dollar General sales associate from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania -- was a winner of a model search conducted by the comapny. For us, she modeled a cotton/acrylic sweater that sells for $12, over a $5 layering t-shirt. The t-shirt is available in a wide array of colors.

She's also wearing the $12 jeans.

"This is one of the items that, as a product person, I'm most proud," Bisney says. "It's a cotton/poly/spandex blend. It's very comfortable to wear, with a bootcut and a curved waistband. The benfit of that is that it really sits nicely on the female figure."

Yasmine, an assistant store manage from Newark, Delaware, who was also a winner in the model search, pairs the jeans with a different top.

"Yasmine is wearing a really great novelty top. It's actually called a sublimation print. It's subtle, but you can see the color's really great on it. It looks wonderful on her. Her jeans are $12 and her shirt is $12," Bisney explains.

The Bobbie Brooks line comes in sizes six to twenty-six and also includes warm-up suits and pajamas.

Bisney says, "We wanted to make sure that every woman, every body shape, whether it's a Missy or a Plus customer, had that option to come in and find something of value that they could feel good about and wear comfortably."
