Pa. Amusement Park Gear for Sale

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Rides and other items from the Williams Grove Amusement Park will be auctioned off February 10th to make room for a new farmers market and flea market.

The Cumberland County amusement park did not open for the 2006 season.

The association recently bought 91 acres near the Williams Grove Speedway and the amusement park site for $2.5 million. The sale of items in ten truck trailers has attracted amusement park collectors from as far away as Michigan.

Market master Chuck Rivers says plans are to open the farmers market and flea market with a pavilion and stalls for 400 vendors by mid-March.

Proceeds will benefit the Williams Grove Historic Steam Engine Association.
