CONCORD, Calif. (AP) - October 12, 2007 -- A new Home Depot is more like a Her Depot.
The chain is giving its home improvement formula a makeover in Concord, California, in an effort to attract more women customers.
The lumber is out, while flower bouquets and floral-print storage bins are in.
Customers won't find any commercial building supplies or contractor-grade tools, either.
The store features well-lit bathrooms, elaborate kitchen displays and stylish home furnishings.
Home Depot officials say their new store has about 75 percent of items usually carried by the chain.
