UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - November 11, 2009 -- A southwestern Pennsylvania candidate who can't believe he got so few votes last year has filed an emergency appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
The Commonwealth Court has already rejected a related appeal by Robert "Ted" Pritchard Sr., of Fairchance.
So now Pritchard wants the Supreme Court to stay election results from last year until the high court decides whether to hear his appeal of the Commonwealth Court ruling.
Pritchard got just 63 votes for district judge last year in Fayette County. The winner got 2,900 votes and another challenger got 957.
Pritchard claims the other candidates' totals could have been padded by dead or unregistered voters not purged from county rolls.
A county attorney says she doesn't think it's necessary to file a response to Pritchard's latest appeal.
