Cool job to have on a hot day

Tuesday, August 09, 2011

It's a cool job during a very hot summer.

The Ice House in Parkersburg, West Virginia, produces 90 tons of ice a day.

The ice is stored in a room that's kept at 25 degrees.

Baggers David Scruggs and Uriah Church can still work up a sweat -- so they've been wearing shorts and short-sleeve shorts.

Plant manager Tom Smith tells a local paper they're making ice 24 hours a day.

He says they even produce clear blocks for use in ice sculptures.
