June 15, 2012 (WPVI) -- Father's day is often a time we remember the best advice we received from our dads.
One famous Wall Street icon has made his fatherly advice accessible - not just to his children- but to all of us.
Famed investor Jim Rogers visited Temple University this week sharing what he calls "A gift to my children."
Rogers was so successful he retired at age 37. When he talks, the market listens. Now parents are listening as he shares how lessons from Wall Street are helping him at home.
"Pay attention to what everyone else neglects," he says.
Rogers shared his homespun advice during Temple University's Financial Literacy series.
He is so passionate about being ready for the future, he and his wife Paige moved their 4- and 9-year-old girls half way around the world to Singapore so that his daughters could master what he sees as the next language of business, Mandarin Chinese.
His 3rd grader has learned Mandarin Chinese so well, from the stage to the street, she speaks like a native.
Jim's book is "A Gift to My Children: A Father's Lessons for Life and Investing." You can see more of Mary's Money advice Sunday on "We Owe What" at 1pm after Action News at Noon.
