WAYNE, Pa. - October 28, 2009 (WPVI) -- The women stocking display racks Tuesday at the Village Hall at the Shops at Eagle Village in Wayne may have looked like ordinary sales clerks. But in fact, they are among the most privileged ladies on the Main Line.
They've spent the past three weeks working non-stop organizing the 32nd annual Community Clothes Charity sale.
The sale gives the volunteers and their well-to-do friends a chance to clean out their lavish closets. And it gives the rest of us a chance to shop as if we were millionaires.
The clothes "come from our closets, our friends' closets , donors that we've had for years," explains Julie Jensen Bryan, a longtime volunteer.
"Also, we have a lot of new things that come from wonderful designers and boutiques around the area. "
As for the pricing, "Things that were several thousand dollars may be $200. Things that are fabulous new at $75, maybe $20," Jensen Bryan explains.
Even the volunteers can't resist checking out the deals.
Ardis Charrington spotted Chanel skirt, that still had the original $1150 price tag on it. It was sale priced at $60.
A Moschino jacket, that probably sold for about $800, was priced at $140.
This year's sale begins Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. and runs through Saturday at noon.

Proceeds from the sale benefit Dragonfly Forest, an organization that gives severely ill children a chance to go to summer camp. So shopping here is practically guilt-free.
Plus, it's fun. The dressing room is "Loehmann's style." So as they try on different items, women are likely to comment to each other on how they look and even trade things that do or don't fit.
"We do hope everyone will wear nice underwear, or at least wear underwear," Jensen Bryan says, as the other volunteers laugh in agreement.
In addition to clothes, the sale features shoes from names like Manolo Blahnik, purses, coats and a boutique with costume jewelry and other accessories.
