HADDONFIELD, New Jersey - Jan. 23, 2012 (WPVI) -- Shelves full of board games. Enough Legos to make an elaborate pirate ship. And buckets full of beads.
And that's just the beginning of what kids (and their parents) will find at Rhinoceros Toys in Haddonfield, New Jersey. It's more than a toy store. It's a place where kids can fun without it costing a lot.
Among the store's unique features, a Game Club, which is like a lending library.
Owner Bernadette Hennessy May explains, "It's $30 a year. You can take two games out at a time and you can come back every day, we don't care, and switch out games. But generally people keep them about a week."
And then, there's the Gamery area, where take-home crafts are available for a small fee and other activities are available by the hour.
May says, "We also have our Gamery, where you can come and rent table time for $10 an hour for up to six people, and then we'll teach you how to play games."
And kids of all ages can really let their creativity flow.
Mom Holly Rowell of Haddonfield, New Jersey, says, "I love the aspect of having a Gamery, where the kids can come and play. The other day we brought 17 Daisy Girl Scouts and they did a beading craft and I was just impressed at how creative they were."
Twelve-year-old Spencer Lincoln, of Cherry Hill, says she enjoys going to Rhinoceros Toys. "It's so much fun because they have games for all ages, like 'Apples to Apples.' I know kids my age like playing it at my school."
Her eight-year-old sister, Scout, enthusiastically agreed, "I like it a lot. It's all brand new games and it's so fun!"
Rhinoceros Toys has another location, in Jenkintown, Pa. You can find out more information about both Rhinoceros Toys stores, their locations and activity schedules, by following this linke.
