Willow Grove Park gets Nordstrom Rack

ABINGTON, Pa. - May 10, 2012 (WPVI) -- Lucky Brand jeans for $39.97. Havaianas flip-flops for $12.90. And men's Lorenzo Uomo shirts for $34.97. Those are just a few of the deals that drew hundreds of shoppers to the grand opening of the new Nordstrom Rack store at Willow Grove Park today.

This is the third Rack in our area. The others are in King of Prussia, Pa., and Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Shoppers started lining up for this morning's grand opening at 7:00 a.m.

Kristen Bria of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., was among the early shoppers.

"I'm excited. I love the King of Prussia Rack, so i was excited to come out for this. I found amazing, amazing deals," she said.

Among her deals: Gucci sunglasses for $89.97. And she wasn't the only one filling up her cart. We spotted two women stocking up on Kate Spade and Michael Kors purses at 50% off. And Mae Handler of Abington, Pa., had a bit of everything in her cart.

"I got a dress, some pants, I got some Free People stuff at great prices," she said. And when I asked her how big the discounts were, she answered "Maybe over 65%."

And just like Nordstrom's full-price stores, Nordstrom Rack is known for its shoes, literally thousands of them. Even in Eric Brown's Size 15.

Brown, of Mount Airy, said, "The prices are pretty amazing. i think I'm probably going to get four or five pairs and probably will still make out better than the other stores in the mall."

Sandy Valerio, of North Wales, Pa., was at four pairs and counting.

"Some shoes, you're saving $50 to $100 dollars," she exclaimed. "It's amazing."

The new Nordstrom Rack is located in what was once the second floor of Strawbridges at Willow Grove Park, next to the Cheesecake Factory restaurant.
