The Philadelphia Collection offers shopping deals

CETNER CITY - Sept. 19, 2013 (WPVI) -- The Hope Chest lingerie shop is one of the many retailers offering special deals as part of The Center City District's "Philadelphia Collection," which kicked off last night.

Spokesperson Laura Krebs explains, "The Philadelphia Collection is a weeklong series of fashion and style events that takes place throughout all of the neighborhoods in Philadelphia. It's more than 60 events over eight days."

Tonight, The Hope Chest is hosting a Spanx trunk show. Shoppers who buy $50 worth of Spanx will get a free lingerie goodie bag, including a soft Coobie bra

.

Also, throughout the six days of special events, Giovanni and Pileggi Salon will be offering discounted haircuts and blow-outs.

And tomorrow, a big event for fashionistas.

"The Fashionaires is back at the Hotel Palomar tomorrow," Krebs explains. "Basically, it's an amazing pop-up shop of designer vintage accessories and apparel for about 80% less than the price you would find in a retail store."

And it's not just ladies who can take advantage of the Philadelphia Collection deals and special events.

"Suit Supply on 16th and locust is offering a really good promo on the 20th," Krebs says. "Anyone who comes in and purchases a red line suit will get a complimentary dress shirt."

Plus, on Saturday, Eakins Oval will be transformed into a shopper's paradise.

Krebs says, "On Saturday, at Eakins Oval, they're going to be hosting a shopping day out. There's going to be tons of the city's best boutiques, fashion deisgners, vendors and they're going to be setting up shop, and offering really great discounts on their best fall collections."
