EAST OAK LANE - Oct. 10, 2013 (WPVI) -- Like a lot of us, when Malori Holloman looks through her closet, she finds some of her shopping "mistakes."
She explains, "They're things that you buy online and you're like 'which size is going to fit me?' So you buy two sizes, and then you don't around to returning them."
But Holloman has discovered a way to turn her mistakes into money and to save on items she wants and needs.
She's listed her unwanted shoes and clothes on Tradesey.
We Skyped with the founder and CEO, Tracy DiNunzio.
She explains, "Tradesy is a website and a mobile app where women can buy and sell fashion straight from their closets."
Sellers, like Holloman, upload photos and descriptions of their clothes. Tradesy will give them a recommended price for quick sale. Those prices reflect big discounts off new retail.
DiNunzio says, "Our average (savings) on designer bags, shoes, clothing is about 82%. And you can save up to 95% on designer fashion."
Once an item sells, the site takes a nine percent commission and sends the seller a pre-addressed, postage-paid shipping package. Shoppers get their items in about ten days. And the site also handles returns.
Holloman says once her items sell, she's ready to do some more shopping... And saving.
The recent college grad she's got her eye on, "Some shoes. I love shoes. And looking at jackets, and more corporate wear for the business world."
Tradesy is offering a discount code just for Action News Saving with 6abc viewers. Use the code 6abc to save 10% on your first purchase.
