Two arrested, two sought in parking lot assault

Philadelphia police have arrested two men and are looking for two more in connection with an assault in an Old City parking lot that was caught on camera.

Michael Russo, 21, of the 2100 block of S. Carlisle Street and Edward Costello, 19, of the 2700 block of S. Smedley Street have been arrested for the assault of a 27-year-old man at Front and Chestnut streets in Old City.

The remaining suspects are described as:

  • #1 White male, mid 20's, dark hair, black "T" shirt, light pants
  • #1 White male, mid 20's, dark hair, white "T" shirt, black pants

The video of the assault, released by police, shows the EZ Park parking lot at 100 Chestnut Street back on April 30th. It begins showing a group of people who come running into view, stopping in front of the camera.

Within moments, a number of men can be seen assaulting another man.

At one point the victim backs away. That's when one of the suspects, who was wearing a black shirt and light pants, walks up and punches the victim, knocking him out cold.

Police say the victim suffered numerous facial fractures including a broken jaw and a fractured left orbital bone.
