ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (AP) - December 22, 2011 (WPVI) -- Like many parents, finding yourself without the spouse and kids around this time of year means the chance to go out and do some holiday shopping without anyone else knowing.
That's what President Barack Obama did - except, being the president, nothing he does is in secret. With the media in tow, the president took first dog Bo to a PetSmart and Best Buy in the Virginia suburbs.
During his stop at the electronics store, Obama bought his daughters two games: "Sims 3: Pets" and "Just Dance 3."
The president said he plays many of the dance games with his girls - but loses all the time.
The gifts totaled over $190 - a total the president put on his credit card, but not before joking with the cashier how embarrassing it would be if the purchase was rejected.
