January 20, 2012 (WPVI) -- Actress Katherine Heigl left "Grey's Anatomy" in January 2010 to raise her adopted daughter and pursue a movie career.

However, now the actress wants to return to the ABC medical drama. In a video interview with E!, Heigl says she really wants to see where her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, is; to find out what happened to her, and know how she's doing.

The eighth season of "Grey's Anatomy" started this past September.
