BETHLEHEM, Pa. - July 31, 2011 (WPVI) -- This Friday, historic downtown Bethlehem will be the place to be. That's when Musikfest 2011 kicks off with 10 days jam-packed with music, food and good old-fashioned family fun.
Musikfest 2011 is bigger and better than ever with 15 indoor and outdoor- free and ticketed-stages, non-stop music, more than 300 performers and a brand new performing arts center.
This year's headliners include John Oates, Stone Temple Pilots, Maroon 5, Miranda Cosgrove, Nick Jonas and international funk, blues and soul star Nikka Costa.
Don't let the name fool you. Musikfest is just as much about food. You can nosh on everything from roasted corn to meat and veggie kebobs, battered and deep fried Oreo cookies and funnel cake.
There are also carnival style games and a craft show featuring some of the nation's most talented artisans.
6ABC is a proud sponsor of Musikfest, and if you swing over to our Acc YOU weather booth, you can test your own talents.
Musikfest is staged by ArtsQuest, which opened a year-round live arts venue, this spring, with stunning views of the iconic Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces.
ArtsQuest's Steel Stacks campus will be the heart of this year's festivities, expected to draw a million people to historic downtown Bethlehem. Many come back year after year.
Money raised during the 10 day Musikfest helps support art programs around the region all year round. For the full schedule of performers, go to http://www.musikfest.org.Get more 6ABC Loves the Arts »
