MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY; March 10, 2010 (WPVI) -- If you have a loved who needs a little extra help around the house or getting to medical appointments, a South Jersey company has created an easy way to help.
TLC HomeCare Services in Moorestown, New Jersey created the Care Card. You can use it to buy services for a loved one in need of help.
Co-owner Kelly Tandourjian says you can buy care in 3-hour increments for a variety of tasks, and for someone of any age.
Tandourjian told Action News, "Meal preparation, transportation, light housekeeping, laundry.... And then personal care, which includes grooming, dressing, bathing, toiletting."
She went on, "They're for moms-to-be who are bedridden, moms who are bringing a newborn home, and need someone to toss in a load of laundry, so she can bond with her baby. They are for someone who is recovering from a sports injury or surgery."
"Really, they are for anyone who needs an extra pair of hands around the house."
She and her business partner Patti Maltese personally do all the interviews and site visits to match clients with the right caregivers.
The two say they want to change the face of home care, to make it a more positive, welcome experience.
TLC HomeCare has been certified as a home care provider for the Greater Delaware Valley chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It provides up to 80 hours of home care per year for anyone diagnosed with the disease.
Right now, the gift cards are good for home care in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties.
