Police Impersonator Wanted in Waterford, NJ

Thursday, April 27, 2006

The hunt is on in South Jersey for a police impersonator. Investigators say a man, dressed like a police officer, pulled over a female driver Wednesday morning in Waterford, Camden County.

The suspect was driving an unmarked, white SUV with a red light bar on its roof.

Police say the impersonator tried to get the woman to get out of her car but she became suspicious and took off.

He is described as a white male in his early 30's, 5-feet-11, with medium shoulder-length hair parted in the middle, a close-cropped beard and black sunglasses.

He appeared sloppily dressed, wearing a black police-type uniform with a patch on the left arm and a gold badge.
