NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - June 6, 2006 (WPVI) -- "You just don't get up in the morning stabbing people," said neighbors in Northeast Philadelphia following Tuesday's attack on a postal carrier on their block.
42-year-old Alveda Tolliver is in Philadelphia Police custody tonight.
Police say Tolliver approached a mail carrier this morning in the 1500 block of Lardiner Street.
She allegedly said "it's your day to die," then stabbed the carrier in the arm.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was treated for minor injuries and is home from the hospital tonight.
Tolliver is charged with attempted murder and other offenses.
