MEDFORD, N.J. - September 27, 2007 (WPVI) -- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a driver to lose control and crash a van into a house in Burlington County.
The accident happened just after 4:30 this afternoon in the 400 block of Aspen Court in Medford.
The van careened off Hartford Road, went through two back yards, clipped a playground set and then slammed into the home.
"It sounded like a house blew up. It was very, very loud," said neighbor Patricia Pacetti.
Tony Leone owns the house. He moved out just two weeks ago.
"Ordinarily, we would have been sitting there. That's our family room. We would have been in that room at this time of night. We would have been watching tv and that van would have been on my lap," said homeowner Tony Leone.
His son still lives in the home. He has been sprucing up the place before it goes on the market. Fortunately, he was at work.
"I'm disgusted right now. Don't know what's going on," said Tony Leone Jr.
Medford Police said 34-year-old Eric Greene was driving a work van. A carpet cleaning business employs him. His coworkers and friends arrived at the scene, but they wouldn't say whether he had any sort of medical condition.
