BERLIN BORO, N.J. - March 31, 2008 (WPVI) -- A problem with Mold has forced two Police departments in South Jersey to find temporary homes to conduct business.
The mold is easy to spot in the basement of the Berlin Boro Municipal building in Camden County. The fungus is growing on the walls, baseboards and even the light fixtures in the offices that housed the Police departments.
The problem was detected several weeks ago and tests were conducted to confirm it.
Berlin Boro Police was sharing the basement offices with Berlin township officers who were evacuated from their building because of structural problems. Now, both police departments have been relocated to other offices.
Work to remove the mold is set to begin tomorrow and could take up to 3 weeks.
