Student stabbed near Reading school

Police say a 15-year-old student was stabbed by a 14-year-old outside the Northeast Middle School in Reading.

It happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. Friday at 12th and Marion Streets.

Police say a group of students were fighting outside Northeast Middle School when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed another three or four times in the abdomen.

The victim was rushed to the hospital. Police say his injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.

The victim attends Reading High School. The suspect goes to Northeast Middle.

Reading School District's superintendent calls the incident "unacceptable."
